Bottom door latch
Ear mounting on back of movement
Unsigned timepiece attributable to Leonard W. Noyes, Nashua Hampshire. This clock is made of mahogany as are the half round throat and bottom door frames. The backboard is one solid piece pine. It has a brass, turned bezel with a convex glass. It has an eagle finial. The dial is iron, painted enameled, with arrow filed hour and minute hands. The movement is time only, recoil escapement, and is diagonally ear-mounted. All, if not most Noyes movements are mounted as such. It's cast iron weight driven and the winding arbor is at the two o'clock position. The side arms are what you will find on most New Hampshire timepieces. The tablets are reverse painted, with gold leaf flowering on the throat, and geometric on the bottom with gold leaf border and flying eagle in the center.
